We photograph anywhere between 30 – 40 invitation suites per year. That’s a lot of paper! Some wedding days we will have simply the invitation card. Some will have a full set complete with illustrations, RSVP and more. As a graphic design major, Justin is obsessed with paper goods. Being classically trained in this, he has such an eye for design and putting together the perfect invitation photo. As his wife, I may be a little biased. BUT I’ll let you guys be the ones to judge in the below photos!
5. Flowers. Always More Flowers.
We are absolutely obsessed with this photo! It’s not every wedding where we get to play with lots of flowers. Typically, we’ll ask the florist to borrow a few loose blooms to play with, but we were very spoiled when we had a WHOLE arrangement to use for this photo! Speaking of your florist, let them know that the photographer would like a few loose blooms to style details with. Typically, that’s never a problem, AND they get to have their flowers in more photos! Jenny Sanders is such an incredible designer and artist. Her minimal style was the perfect contrast to our floral-heavy concept.
4. Blush + Geo
Blush has been a very popular color the last couple of years. However, our brides lately have been putting a fun twist on things. Taylor loved the idea of blush but wanted her wedding day to have that extra punch. She paired the feminine tone with the modern geo trend and a pop of red. Talk about an amazing combination!
3. Gingham Perfection
This suite easily finds itself in our top 5 list. You’ll recognize this one from our feature in Volume 10 of Southern Weddings! An invitation liner made from real flowers + dried corn to toss + a gingham background? Our Southern hearts were too happy to photograph this suite at Columbia’s Wavering Place!
2. Simply Blue
Sid + Nick said “I Do” in beautiful Alys Beach. If you’ve never heard of it, Google it IMMEDIATELY! All white buildings as far as the eye can see… and right on the beach. It’s almost too good to be true. We paired this suite with Nick’s favorite bourbon and fresh rosemary that donned each room’s bedside table.
1. Sometimes Less Really Is More
Put a Poppy on anything, and we will love it. Trust us! While we do love pattern and color, there’s something about a minimal wedding suite combined with just a pop of color that makes our hearts so happy. We were even able to snag the groom’s bow tie for that perfect final touch in this invitation suite photo!
Love!
