We may be nearing the end of Summer, but we’re not letting go of vibrant colors quite yet! So excited to finally share these images that are full of our favorite wedding day accents – lemon, apricot, peach & olive leaf! If you’re looking for beautiful Summer inspiration for your upcoming Savannah or Charleston wedding, we have the perfect images for you!

From photographer, Justin of The Happy Bloom:

Minimalism, white washed walls and neutral colour palettes are all the rage. Truly, this even describes our home, fashion and personal lifestyle! However, there is a small wave happening in the wedding world. This wave… is called colour. Couples are beginning to slightly push the boundaries in a world of greenery and white rose bouquets. Our goal with this shoot was to show couples that you can have colour and still have a wedding that is timeless and chic. We kept white very much at the forefront of this shoot. White linens, a white cake and even white tops for the bridesmaids anchored the imagery in a safe, solid place. We let the flowers do ALL of the talking! Andrea of Gray Harper Florals created magical pieces that were both whimsical and fresh – perfect for a Spring wedding day in the South!

From planner, Rachel Slauer:

Justin and I wanted to create something that is both bright, fun, and personal, yet still refined, soft, and artful. It was definitely a challenge to walk that line, and I’m so proud of what our vendor team produced. Love in Bloom was a labour of love- that’s for sure!

We started with a fruit inspired colour palette- lemon, apricot, peach, olive leaf, and neutral accents. I’m so glad we got to give yellow a little love! Yellow is often overlooked when it comes to wedding colour palettes because it can quickly become overwhelming. For that reason we used it sparingly, for the most part only featuring it via the floral arrangements and the bridesmaid skirts. It’s a lot like salt- a pinch goes a long way!

We wanted the look and feel of the day to express not only the couple’s personalities, but also the city’s personality. We imagined a couple from Texas coming down to the sweet southern city of Savannah to get away and get married in front of their close friends and families. The bride and groom are a lovely match- she is fun loving and free-spirited, while he is quiet and thoughtful. From the “grab a drink and find your seat” cocktail bar, to the customised welcome baskets, to the peach and honey infused cake, this wedding day was full of joy, charm, and personal touches.

Graduating with a degree in Graphic Design from Auburn University, I pursued both photography and hand-painted illustration right out of college. I am a whole-hearted extrovert allowing me to connect to couples and families as if you’ve known me for years. I have a passion for photography and capturing couples naturally and always in their best light. In my downtime, you can easily find me sitting on my front porch rocking chair with a rye old fashioned in hand - my wife, Amanda, by my side and our three pups (Scout, Max and Cullen) at my feet.
